“‘No grass, no crabs'” wins first-place in environmental reporting for MDDC Press Association Contest
"No grass, no crabs" won first placed Environmental Reporting - Division F from the 2024 MDDC Press Association Content Awards.
The MDDC Contest recognizes excellence in news media organizations throughout Maryland, Delaware and D.C. Entries are judged by newspaper professionals from the Washington Press Association.
It's an honor to receive another award with reporters Andrea Durán and Daranee Balachandar.
This news comes shortly after placing first in the Society of Professional Journalism's Region 2 Mark of Excellence Awards for In-Depth Reporting (large).
We are honored and grateful for this recognition. The thing is ... awards were the last thing on our minds while reporting and writing. We were way too busy having fun while remaining steadfast in giving this story the depth it deserved.
